Absolutely beautiful and impeccably well maintained 2012 997.2 GTS4. Purchased this car a little over a year ago and put on an unforgettable ~20,000 miles on it. I would hope whoever buys it keeps on rocking it. It’s a beautiful car and an amazing drive and made for it. If you just want something pretty to look at get a real doll or something.
We are selling because the wife and I both really enjoy trying different vehicles and we typically don’t keep these type of vehicles for over a year. In addition we are moving in September and would rather not drag this and our other cars across the country. (Check out my other auctions for our other vehicles).
We have taken this car all over the country and I wouldn’t hesitate to jump into it and drive it anywhere. Having said that this is not a Toyota Camry or a Honda Accord. Good news it won’t suck the life out of you bad news it does require expensive service and maintenance. Since I purchased it I have done the following things:
80k service that included; new plugs, new coils(preventive measure the old coils could crack and have been superseded with a new part #) , cam position sensor, air filters, serpentine belt, all fluids
~2k mike ago new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S+ Tires. I think these are pretty much the best tires you can get without going to a track tire. I don’t track and don’t need track tires
4 wheel alignment with tire change
@79k both front shocks and front axle
@79k switch to open trunk and frunk was replaced
@87k new front shock mount on left side
Only modification is a sharkwerks crossover pipe. This is about 00 for the part and makes the Porsche exhaust slightly louder. With PSE off it’s hard to tell the difference. With PSE on it makes the Porsche sound absolutely fantastic. I do have the original if you want it.
Majority of the work was done either by The Werk Shop in Mundelein IL or Golz Motors in Deerfield. If you are local I prefer Golz to The Werk shop but both do great work.
What’s wrong with the car… let see
The rims have some curb rash but should be fixable for about a rim and I have a contact for who can do it. Doesn’t bother me.
One of the cup holders won’t hold a drink because a little metal pin is missing
The black piece under the front bumper has some rub marks.
Car does have close to 90k and has the usual wear on the drivers side door handle
No gps disc
I think that’s pretty much it. Otherwise I assume you know the gts is basically a fully loaded 4s but in addition the 997.2 gts has more hp/and torque then the regular s or 4s, it also has a wider stance, and slightly lower to the ground. Prior to this car we have had many other great rides but this one really stands out at the top. For comparison we had a newer 991.1 4s (slightly faster and significantly more stable in triple digits but less fun to drive), Jaguar F type R (nonstop check engine lights, lots of fun off the line but doesnt handle and a transmission that belongs in a minivan), Multiple BMW’s the favorite being a tuned f10 M5 (no 4 door should be this fast, way too many buttons and drives itself) and lots of antiques and motorcycles.
Any questions please ask. Happy to take it for inspection to a place of your choice. Feel free to come out and drive it.
Edit 6-18 - nothing to do with the car so feel free to ignore
So I realize this description has grammatical errors but let me shift some of the blame to eBay. I typed this up on my phone and all attempts to correct only make the listing worse. Hard to believe eBay is one of the internet’s OG’s. They now have at least 4 different portals (desktop, mobile internet, eBay app, eBay motors apps) and each one is a bigger dumpster fire then the prior and when combined we find ourselves in a mad max world minus Tina. Each has different fields, pic reqs, formats, errors etc… I think they extend their flea market mentality to their software development practice. Here is an idea, get one interface right and then move to the next one. So frustrating.
