    Description

Vintage Boxwood & Brass Carpenters' Folding Rule - Early and Unmarked
This is a vintage 24" four-fold boxwood and brass
    Carpenters' rule
with square joint.   This example is not marked with a maker's name.  It does look early and is a bit wider than most rules.  Perhaps you can determine the maker?   It could be by H. Chapin, L.C. Stephens, E.A. Stearns or one of the more obscure rule makers.  I rate this ruler in
    GOOD CONDITION
overall.  It is missing all 3 alignment pins, but still folds up nice and tight.  It has been lightly cleaned and ready to display.  The Turkish Boxwood has nice patina.  An interesting example of an early Carpenters' folding rule for you to add to your antique measuring tool collection!
If you have any questions regarding this item, please ask me prior to bidding. In the next few weeks, I will be selling folding rules made by Stanley, Lufkin, H. Chapin, Stephens, Rabone, Upson Nut, and others, so if you like folding rulers, please take a second to take a look at my other auctions.
Thanks For Your Interest & Good Luck!!!
